Every spring, current College of Charleston students are able to submit their recent work to the Young Contemporaries, held at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. This gives them an opportunity to have work chosen by a nationally prominent juror and exhibit in a professional gallery setting. The annual exhibition shows off the brightest talents coming from the College’s School of the Arts, including painters, sculptors, printmakers, and photographers. This unique show gives students the opportunity to learn how to prepare for future gallery exhibits and helps them to practice the type of professionalism necessary for success in such a competitive field.
